Opinion on Obama's State of the Union Address (SOTU 2014)

CNN at Can Obama deliver action on inequality? writes:
"(CNN) -- CNN asked for views on President Obama's State of the Union address Tuesday night .... "
Various opinions are given on Obama and the middle class, the battle against inequality, U.S. foreign policy, U.S. immigration reform, American Congress, higher education, women's issues, government spending, national health insurance, national unity and discord, job creation and the economy, and climate change.

We are in any case of the opinion that a nation gets what it deserves, take that comment as you will.

America is a country where the majority of people want "change forward" and the ruling minorities want "change backward", so the nation constantly has one foot on the accelerator and one foot on the brake.

That is not a good combination for winning races on any track.

Moreover, when "the people" elect so many clearly unqualified members to the U.S. Congress, who prefer to "do nothing" and "play" President, rather than assisting the Chief Executive legislatively to reconstruct a nation perched on the fringe of 3rd-world status, then how can they complain?

Obama may not be perfect, but he surely is better than many of the politicians in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, one of whom even selfishly boasted to be "back in America" ONLY after leaving Washington D.C. and finding himself protectively shielded in his home state among his own voters.

That is not my kind of American, thank you.

America consists of ALL of the people, not just a few.

With that kind of personnel in the legislative branch, much improvement can not be expected nationally, even if the President were a demigod.
